Melba woven throw blanket by Suvi Suitiala
The Melba throw was designed by Finnish illustrator Suvi Suitiala for Slowdown studio. Originally founded in Los Angeles and now based in Sydney, Slowdown Studio is led by creative duo Jacob and Sarah-Jane Leung. The studio collaborates with international artists to translate original artworks into woven, functional design objects for everyday living.
Suvi Suitiala’s visual language is characterised by vibrant colour palettes, flat-colour forms and dreamlike compositions, translated here into a tactile, woven textile artwork.
Use it as a woven throw blanket on the bed or sofa, or display it on the wall as textile art, turning your interior into a living composition. Whether styled as a functional blanket or as a decorative wall piece, it brings warmth, texture and artistic presence to everyday spaces.
Each blanket in this series is created in collaboration with a different international artist, transforming original artworks into artist-designed textiles. Crafted in the USA from 100% cotton, including recycled yarn, this lightweight woven blanket balances sustainability, craftsmanship and contemporary design.
