Collection: The Rooms x RUIMTE

The Rooms Edit - Collectible Design from Room 449

A curated selection of collectible design and functional art, presented by RUIMTE at The Rooms 2026 - Brussels' most intimate art and design fair, hosted at Mix Brussels hotel.

The room was never meant to look like a gallery. The objects were placed to coexist with the space rather than compete with it -  each piece keeping its own character while becoming part of a single composition. A wall piece, a ceramic, a textile: individually distinct, collectively one room.

Each object in this edit was chosen to explore a single idea: the boundary between design and art. How a functional piece can carry the same emotional weight as a work on a gallery wall. How the things we live with every day can be expressions of craft, intention, and artistic vision.

The selection brings together female designers -  whose work sits at the intersection of material culture and contemporary art. Pieces that don't ask to be looked at from a distance, but to be touched, used, and lived with. The selection included textile art works by Emma Terweduwe, as well as Mexican scukptural textiles.
