Collection: Malwina Konopacka

Malwina Konopacka – Polish Ceramic Artist

Malwina Konopacka is a renowned Polish ceramic artist and illustrator, best known for her iconic OKO ceramics collection. Born in 1982 in Warsaw, she studied Industrial Design at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and later pursued illustration at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Her background in both design and illustration uniquely informs her artistic language, blending visual storytelling with three-dimensional form.

What began as an exploration of how drawing could translate into everyday objects led to the creation of the first OKO vase in 2014. Since then, the OKO family has continued to grow, becoming one of the most recognizable collections in contemporary ceramics. Each piece is handmade and hand-painted in collaboration with skilled craftsmen and ceramic technologists in Poland — ensuring exceptional quality and artistic integrity.

Designer's work and international recognition

Konopacka’s work is celebrated for its bold use of color, expressive shapes, and graphic sensibility. Her vases and ceramic sculptures sit at the intersection of fine art and design, seamlessly combining traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.

Her pieces are part of numerous private collections and have been acquired by the National Museum in Krakow’s design collection. Malwina Konopacka’s ceramics are regularly featured in both Polish and international exhibitions, including Design Museum in Brussels as part of a Woman in Contemporary Design exhibition.

Her work is showcased in the “Regeneration” exhibition  — a prestigious showcase of contemporary Polish art and design held within the buildings of the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament, in honor of Poland’s presidency of the EU Council.

Konopacka’s growing international recognition, combined with her commitment to craftsmanship and concept, makes her one of the leading voices in contemporary ceramic art today. She was recently named to the AD100 list by Architectural Digest — recognizing her as one of the most influential designers of today.
