The Good Living & Co

Where craftsmanship becomes contemporary design

A story shaped over generations

The Good Living & Co. is not just a design brand. It’s the continuation of a family story that began nearly a century ago.

Founder Monika Szyca-Thomas works in the very same workshop her grandfather established in the 1950s in Chojnice, Poland - following the path of her great-grandfather Tomasz, a craftsman himself. Today, that workshop is still active, still local, still rooted in traditional techniques.

Each piece is created there, by skilled hands trained within this lineage. A rare continuity in today’s design landscape.

Steel, reimagined

At the heart of The Good Living & Co. lies a strong belief: steel is timeless.

Solid, durable, and honest - yet capable of surprising softness.

Monika’s work plays with contrast. Industrial materials like steel and aluminium meet forms that feel almost romantic: subtle curves, braided elements, delicate gestures. The result is furniture that challenges expectations - quietly expressive, never excessive.

Recognition and a distinct voice

In 2026, Monika Szyca-Thomas was named among the Architectural Digest Poland Top 100 Designers, highlighting her growing presence in the international design scene.

Her work stands out not only for its craftsmanship, but for its clear identity: a dialogue between tradition and contemporary design, between precision and emotion.

A personal connection

My connection with The Good Living & Co. goes back to 2020, when I first fell in love with one of Monika’s tables.

What stayed with me wasn’t just the design, but her honesty - encouraging me, a mum of 2 small kids, at the time, to wait before purchasing and simply enjoy a home that could be fully lived in, without worries that a beautiful furniture may get damaged.

That perspective, both as a designer and as a person, is something I’ve carried with me since. It makes this collaboration feel all the more natural today.

The Good Living & Co. at RUIMTE

At RUIMTE, I am drawn to objects that carry meaning,  pieces that go beyond function and bring something deeper into a space.

The Good Living & Co. fits naturally within this vision.

Each piece is made to last, both in quality and in presence. A quiet statement. A strong foundation. Sometimes, one bold element is enough.
